The 2079 AD Case Files had its start around the beginning of 2023, but some characters and concepts in it can be dated back to around 2017-2018. It wasn't until the middle of the following year it was made that the world and characters were further developed. During the same time, the entire project finally got a name assigned to it, which Atelier 2079 is named for.

Overall, the entire project is influenced by the author's opinion that there is a lack of good quality extraterrestrial-themed science fiction stories of a more comedic tone nowadays. This website serves as a digital archive of all material made for this project, as well as any comics.
A pilot comic, Jeff's Odyssey is in the works at this time.
